Anton-Bauer Offers LED Lighting Options
August 25, 2009

Anton/Bauer Lighting

Anton/Bauer, a brand of The Vitec Group, and a global provider of batteries, chargers, lighting and other mobile power systems for the professional broadcast, video and film industries, is introducing its new LED EledZ and ULHM-LED light modules at IBC 2009 (Stand 9.D28b). Together with Litepanels, a sister Vitec Group brand, Anton/Bauer has developed the signature EledZ and ULHM-LED LED lights to complement the UltraLightSeries and ElipZ battery system.

“We are happy to finally provide an LED lighting solution for our customers,” says Martyn Sly-Jex, regional sales manager for EMEA. “With the additional power draw from today’s cameras, customers need a way to maximize their battery run-time. The EledZ and ULHM-LED lights successfully cut down on the total power consumption of a user’s lights, giving them an easy way to extend the run-time and battery power.”

Designed for use with the popular Anton/Bauer ElipZ 10K battery, the EledZ is an integral LED light perfect for today’s smaller handheld cameras. When used with the ElipZ battery system, the EledZ (5.5”W x 4”H x 1.5”D/13.9 x 10.16 x 3.81 cm) produces heat-free and flicker-free soft bright light of 5600°K and weighs a mere 110g (4 ounces)

. Consuming only 4.5 watts, the EledZ includes a dimmer which allows for light output adjustments from 0-100%, with very minimal color change. With the ElipZ 10K battery, the typical run-time for powering the EledZ and a camera is five hours. The light output is 52fc (560 lux) at 2 feet. A filter is included with the kit which allows a user to change color temperature down to 3200K as necessary.

The ULHM-LED is an LED head module designed for use with the Anton/Bauer UltraLight. The versatility of the UltraLight Head Module has been its most beneficial feature over the past 20 years, allowing a videographer to quickly change to an HMI (UltraDAYlight) or carry a spare head module. Now, with the development of the ULHM-LED, a videographer can maximize their investment with the choice of using tungsten, HMI or LED lighting with the same light base.

The ULHM-LED head module (5.680”W x 4.09”H x 1.650”D/14.43 x10.39 x 4.19 cm) weighs only 300g (10.5 oz) and provides heat-free and flicker-free soft, bright light of 5600°K. With a very low power consumption of 9 watts, the added ability to dim the light from 0-100% with minimal color temperature change makes this the most efficient LED light available. The ULHM-LED head module puts out 100fc (1100 lux) at 2 feet while consuming a third of the power of a tungsten light. A filter is included with the package which allows users to change the color temperature down to 3200°K as required.
